Beloved Hilarion

Beloved Hilarion

Hilarion is the Chohan of the Fifth ray of Truth, Healing and Divine Science.

He is the Hierarch of the Temple of Truth on the etheric plane near Crete, Greece.

Hilarion was high priest of the Temple of Truth on Atlantis, and He transported the flame of Truth together with the artifacts of the Temple to Greece a short time before the sinking of the continent. The focus of Truth that he established became the focal point for the Oracles of Delphi, Messengers of Truth who served under the direction of Pallas Athena for hundreds of years, until black priests penetrated the Delphic Order and perverted the Truth that had been brought forth. The Brotherhood then withdrew this service to embodied mankind, since people were unable to distinguish between Truth and error.

Hilarion was later embodied as Saul of Tarsus, who became the apostle Paul.

Paul was a citizen of Cilicia (seaport Tarsus), learned Jew brought up at Jerusalem at the feet of Gamaliel, who was a Pharisee of the council and doctor of the law.

Familiar with the path of learning and the learned, the soul within, quite apart from the outer mentality, was no stranger to its spiritualization by the Word.

Through the mind of Saul was prejudiced against Christ (by hereditary and environmental factors that cannot permanently alter the soul’s direction except she give consent), the image of the apostle Paul, his fiery destiny, was already etched within his spirit.

Whatever else Paul was outwardly, inwardly his soul was ready! As He had been prepared of the Spirit, so He had readied himself through diligent application to studies in this and previous lives.

We see the figure of the Master Jesus appearing to Saint Paul on the Damascus way – “a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round above me,” as he described his experience to Agrippa. And he heard the voice of the Master saying, “Saul, Saul, why persecutes thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”[1]

Hilarion has recalled for us His encounter with the Christ in that embodiment:

“Jesus the Christ we called Him, and we were called of Him as you are called this day. I recall the memories of His coming to me, empowering me with His Word. Yet first He humbled me on that road to Damascus, the humbling I sorely needed that I might bow to my own Christ flame that He revealed to me, as He also gave to me the key of meditation upon that flame that I might walk in His footsteps on the Fifth ray of Science and Healing and apostleship and the preaching of the Word.

“Often I felt like the hands and the feet and the heart of Hercules, wrestling with the downward spirals of the earth with their atheism, their agnosticism, their intellectual pride and rancor against the prophets and the Holy One of God so recently come into our midst. Yet, all the while I remembered I was once counted among them. To have been once so proud and so deliberate against the will of God would forever burn in my memory the helplessness that we all have as instruments of God. But the great empowering by the Word comes, my beloved, in the hour of the conversion. It is not the hour of the call, but the hour of the conversion when the soul answers with something that is deep. It is the flowing, it is the giving, it is that surrender when, as He said: ‘It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks…"

“My soul knew Him as of old and recalled to my outer mind the memory of the inner vow.

“It was not the first time I had seen the Lord Christ. I had seen Him before taking incarnation, and yet I had to work through that pride, that karma on the Fifth ray of much learning, much studying and superiority in social standing and intellectual standing that I had in regards to the early Christians. And so, it was my own karma that was upon me whereby I was resisting the call.”

It was a blinding light and a purging light that descended on Paul. It was for the rebuke of his human consciousness that had persecuted the true servants of God. It was for the purification of his sight that he might behold the Son of God. It was the light of conversion that turned him around and set him on the path of his own personal walk with the Master Jesus Christ.

For a period following his conversion to Christ, Paul retreated into the Arabian Desert. In Galatians 1:16–18, Paul records, “I conferred not with flesh and blood. Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem.”»

Commentators have often speculated as to what Paul did during his sojourn in the desert. Hilarion has explained that Jesus took him “with others into His retreat over the Holy Land and at Arabia. I have been there and learned of Him. And this was my desert sojourn in meditation with Him, taken up as I was in my finer bodies and trained directly heart to heart.”

To what end was the conversion of this Saul of Tarsus? Clearly, it had to have been to a very special purpose that the Master Jesus personally undertook the tutoring of Paul, whose experiences and writing in Christ dominate the New Testament.

In Truth, his mission was to build Christ’s Church upon the Rock of his personal encounter with the Lord – to convent the ‘Gentiles’, their leaders, and the children of light and to elucidate Christ’s Person and Presence as the living Saviour in sermons and letters delivered throughout Asia Minor and the Mediterranean over a period of thirty years.

But this Paul had still another mission – one to be gleaned from his example and that of the resurrected Christ working with him throughout his life as the Lord’s ministering servant. It is their integral relationship that affords insight into the bond of Ascended Master and unascended disciple and through it the fusion of heaven and Earth – as when a nova appears in the firmament to beckon us to the higher calling through the I AM THAT I AM.

Paul’s direct and touching relationship with his Lord shows the intended friendship and personal initiatic path Jesus holds for every one of us – once we allow ourselves to be fully converted (the word means “turned around, transformed as a new creature of Christ”) and subject unto the Universal Christ in life and death and eternity.

Until the would-be chela has diligently prepared himself to the calling of his discipleship, he must remember the words of Jesus: “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,” [2] signifying that until the chela is ready it is the Guru who decides, and not the chela, if the commitment to the relationship is to be entered into. But when the chela is ready, even though she know it not her outer mind, the Guru surely appear. As we have seen, this was the case with Saul of Tarsus..

Because of Paul’s all-consuming passion for the Lord’s mission, Christianity has survived in a form that has prepared Christ’s followers to receive the Lost Years, the Lost Teachings and Lost Word as they are being restored today. Paul, by his example in putting on Christ Jesus, almost more than by his words, prefaces and anticipates John’s vision of the Everlasting Gospel and the new heaven and the new earth.

Now, as for Hilarion, his was the soul of Paul come again for his final incarnation to fulfill the law of balancing his karma incurred in the persecuting of Christians and the consenting to their death.

Because in that lifetime the apostle Paul had consented to the stoning of Saint Stephen (the first Christian martyr) and had actively persecuted and killed Christians, he did not ascend at the conclusion of that life. The taking of life in one incarnation often requires another embodiment to balance that karma. The Ascended Master Hilarion has explained why He was required to embody again before making his ascension: “Remember, then, that we, the apostles of Christ, did come under the dispensation of the Law that required that one balance 100 percent of one’s karma ere the soul enter the ascension in the light. [3]

Thus, I was required to atone in my life as the apostle Paul and in my next life as Saint Hilarion for the sins I had committed before I received my Lord.”

So Jesus, who raised up Paul to be his apostle, sponsored him in a final incarnation as Saint Hilarion the founder of monasticism in Palestine.

In obedience to his Lord and out of love for His own, he once again accepted the gift of His mantle to teach and preach and heal. Thus, by grace through the Lord’s intercession, he settled his accounts with life and went above and beyond the call of karmic duty to bless untold thousands, the Lord working in him and through him.

Hilarion spent twenty years in the desert in preparation for his mission and only then wrought his first miracle—God working through him, he cured a woman of barrenness enabling her to bring forth a son. From that day forward, he carried out a healing ministry.

He healed children of a fever by invoking the name of Jesus, cured paralysis and cast out many devils. Crowds would gather to be healed of diseases and unclean spirits. They followed him even into the most desolate and remote places. He tried many times to hide, but they always found him, compelling him to follow his true calling, for the love of Jesus.

Jerome, whose biography of the saint provides most of the information we know about him, records: “The frequency of his signs in Sicily drew to him sick people and religious men in multitudes; and one of the chief men was cured of dropsy the same day that he came, and offered Hilarion boundless gifts; but he obeyed the Saviour’s saying, ‘Freely ye have received; freely give.’”

On the occasion of a great earthquake, the sea was threatening to destroy the town. According to Jerome, “The sea broke its bounds; and, as if God was threatening another flood, or all was returning to primeval chaos, ships were carried up steep rocks and hung there.” The townsfolk, seeing these mountains of water coming towards the shore, ran and got Hilarion, and “as if they were leading him out to battle, stationed him on the shore. And when he had marked three signs of the cross upon the sand, and stretched out his hands against the waves, it is past belief to what a height the sea swelled, and stood up before him, and then, raging long, as if indignant at the barrier, fell back, little by little, into itself.”

Toward the end of his life the people’s saint, for they had claimed him as their own, retreated to a spot in Cyprus so remote that he was convinced no one would find him there. It was even haunted—the people would be afraid to approach, he thought. But one paralyzed managed to drag himself there, found Hilarion, was cured, and spread the word.

As Jerome said of him, “A city set on an hill cannot be hid.” Hilarion had become that city by his devotion to Christ and by that devotion he magnified the Lord..

And so it was that the saint ended his days in that valley, with many people coming to see him. After his passing, his followers buried him there, as was his desire, but within several months his closest disciple, Hesychius, secretly dug up his grave and carried his body off to Palestine.

Ascended Master Hilarion from His ascended state continues to provide assistance to modern humanity.

For several recent years, He came more than once and transmitted His Teaching through the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Tatyana N. Mickushina.

The Ascended Master Hilarion shared with us a revelation He received in this last physical incarnation on earth as the great healer and hermit living in the deserts of Palestine and Cyprus.

In one of his recent messages He said:

“I, Lord Hilarion, remember the minutes when, being in incarnation and leading a solitary life in the backwoods, I had a chance to observe myself as if from outside all day long. I understood that I was flesh and blood in incarnation with all the functions of my body. But at the same time I began to realize that within me there was another man who was not connected directly with the functions of my physical body. It was a strange feeling of double personality. I was on Earth in incarnation, and at the same time I understood that I was immortal. I was eternal. I was thrown upon my own resources in that incarnation, and I tried to understand the reason for my being, but at the same time I was much more than my physical body. In fact, my physical body was just like a suit of armor enabling my Higher Self to dwell within me.

During those moments of clear understanding of who I was in reality, my consciousness rose to inconceivable heights from where I clearly saw the unity of the entire biosphere existing on Earth.

I clearly saw the unity of all the kingdoms of nature, angels, and elementals. During those joyful minutes of tranquil commune with my heart, I felt around me thousands of beings — invisible to the human eye but nevertheless living — who were speaking to me and trying to get in touch with me. In those moments I experienced unity with every bug, with all the birds and animals.

How beautiful it was! And this was possible only when I was alone with myself. There was nobody around me except animals, birds, angels, and elementals.

Then people came to me. Those people were seeking healing from me. They aspired to come to me in order to get hold of a grain of my quiet happiness and serenity. But as soon as those people with their concerns and problems arrived in my world, the dwellers of my world hid because the vibrations of those people were unfamiliar and hostile to the vibrations of these dwellers as well as to my vibrations, which they had become accustomed to during the period of our quiet communication.

I rendered help to many people. I healed their souls. I prepared remedies from herbs, and I gave them those arcana. But it was not herbs that healed their damaged and feeble bodies. It was the people who cured themselves once their consciousness rose to a level where they began to realize what harm they had done to their souls and physical bodies by committing wrong actions and tolerating wrong feelings.”

Hilarion had the gift of healing in abundant measure. The truly great healers of mankind, who can bring souls to the point of resolution and wholeness by a touch of the hand or a simple command, “Be thou made whole!” are sent from God. The identifying mark of the true healer is that he walks in the shadow of his mighty I AM Presence, that he is humble before God and man and that he gives all glory to God for the works God performs through him, knowing that he is but the instrument of the Holy Spirit. These holy ones of God are self-effacing, and they will not necessarily tell you that they have the gift of healing.

The Temple of Truth is located in the etheric realm over the island of Crete, where the ruins of the original physical Temple of Truth remain from the period when the island was part of the mainland of Greece.

The Ascended Master Hilarion is the Hierarch of the retreat, and Pallas Athena, the Goddess of Truth, is the Patroness. Together They direct the activities of the Brotherhood of Truth, angelic hosts serving on the Fifth ray, and unascended lifestreams who come in their finer bodies between embodiments and also during sleep to learn the truth of all teachings, especially of cosmic law, of the science of healing, mathematics, music, the divine geometry and the science of engrammic rhythms, the laws of alchemy and precipitation.

The flame of Truth enshrined at Hilarion’s Retreat is an intense bright, fiery green – the color that compels precipitation, actualization, practicality, healing, and rejuvenation. The flaming blue of the Power of God combines with the golden ray of the Intelligence of God to focus the green flame of healing and scientific wholeness.

The musical keynote of the Retreat is “Onward, Christian Soldiers” by Arthur Sullivan.
The melody of “Onward, Christian Soldiers” may be played to draw the radiance of Hilarion into one’s world. Through this music, we can feel the same fervor and zeal today that enabled the apostle Paul, two thousand years ago, to inspire the early Christians to establish the Church of Christ in Asia Minor and eventually throughout the known world.

[1] Acts 9:3, 4,5

[2] John: 15-16

[3] Since the inauguration of the new dispensation early in the twentieth century, it is possible to ascend having balanced at least 51 present of one’s karma, the remaining portion then begin balanced in inner levels after the ascension.
