Music is the subtlest instrument of influence

Dear friends! We once again turn to the topic of music.
But before getting acquainted with a new facet of research, let us recall what work has been done over the past 18 years in the direction of popularizing musical culture.
The “Sirius” newsletters devoted to the topic of music began to be published in 2008. They raised questions about the harmful effects of certain types of music and noise on the human body and consciousness. This topic received a wide response from readers.
In 2009, the publishing house “SiriuS” released the collection “Conversations about Music” in the popular science series “Spiritual and Moral Culture” (compiled by Tatyana Mickushina, Tatyana Martynenko, Helen Ilyina).
The book includes articles published in the newsletters in 2008–2009.
Already in 2010, the public organization of the Spiritual and Educational Center “Sirius” held an international conference in Moscow titled “Sound and Music in Our Lives.”
The conference featured and received reports from the Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician S.V. Shushardzhan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.F. Bazarny, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Academician P.P. Garyaev, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E.A. Korabelnikova, and other speakers.
Following the conference, collections of papers were published, including both reports and selected materials. A draft law on noise was also submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, some provisions of which were later adopted at the legislative level.
Tatyana Mickushina has given multiple interviews on the topic of music.
Tatyana Mickushina stated that the rhythm of the pulsation of the chakras, as well as the rhythms of classical and folk music and mantras, are all multiples of 4, whereas the rhythms of voodoo and the rhythms of jazz, blues, and rock are multiples of 3, and such music blocks the chakras. When we listen to music with an incorrect rhythm, we block the flow of Divine energy that enters the world. Such music is harmful to human development. “This invention, this terrible technology has turned the course of human evolution into a non-divine path, and it ultimately separates us from God… Our task is to explain that simply by listening to non-divine music, we acquire all our problems,” claims Tatyana Mikushina.
In the autumn of 2016, webinars were delivered: by Helen Ilyina, “Secrets of Music,” and by A.I. Krylova, “The Life-Giving Power of Music.”
In the winter of 2016–2017, webinar participants became acquainted with the video lecture by Galina Pavlova “Music Determines the Direction of Civilization’s Development. Based on the lecture by Elizabeth Clare Prophet “Sound, Rhythm, Music and Their Influence on the Soul and the Flow of Energy in the Chakras.”
2017 was marked by the publication of the book “Secrets of Music.” In the announcement for the collection, the compilers Tatyana Mickushina and Helen Ilyina wrote: “Having knowledge about the impact of music on us and the surrounding world, we can consciously apply this knowledge and truly change our lives!”
A film with the same title was created based on the book.
Based on the materials of the collection “Secrets of Music,” lectures, presentations, and educational video films were created for classroom hours in schools on the topics: “Music – Art or Weapon?” and “The Brain Loves Silence. On the Impact of Sound and Noise on Our Body.” These lectures were included in the study guide “Morality – the Strength of the Nation” for grades 7–8 (authors Z.I. Galitskaya, Helen Ilyina, O.V. Marchenko, Galina Pavlova), published by the “For Morality!” Foundation in 2017. Volunteers of the Foundation conducted dozens of lectures about music for schoolchildren and students in cities across Russia and abroad.
For many years, Tatyana Mickushina carefully selected the best recordings of musical works in high quality that would have the right effect on the listener. Thus, an entire collection of recommended music was created, which can be found on the website “Constellation of Aquarius” in the sections: instrumental, vocal, choral, musical theater, mantras, and modern instrumental music.
The publishing house “SiriuS” released CD discs with classical music: “The Healing Power of Sound” (in 3 parts), “Towards a New Life,” “Magic World” (in 2 parts), “Divine Music” (in 2 parts), “Strings of the Soul,” “The Miracle of Life. Music for the Soul,” “The Lord Is with You. Spiritual Songs and Mantras.” Three discs with mantras were also released.
From the above, it is clear how enormous the work carried out in the field of musical culture education and the selection of proper musical examples has been. But this is clearly not enough!
Music is the most subtle instrument of influence, and therefore control over music has always been in the hands of the powerful. Music played in stores makes visitors buy more. The поток of “musical debauchery” from TV screens and the internet dulls listeners so much that adequate discernment becomes almost impossible, while depression and fatigue are guaranteed.
In the modern world, filled with a cacophony of sounds, how can one keep consciousness elevated? Is it possible to help oneself by listening to the right music? What is the right music?
The answers to these main questions will be devoted to future newsletters on musical topics.
